The Tom Peters Group conducted extensive interviews
with thousands of Business Executives in the 2000's.
The findings were interesting. Almost 50% of them said
that despite spending years striving for financial goals
their lives were 'empty and meaningless'. 68% of them
said that they had neglected their families and well-being
to pursue professional goals.
A challenge - in your mulling over the year 2005 ask
yourself how much time you have spent focusing on:
· What you don't have rather
than what you do have?
· What you aren't rather than
what you are?
· Where you've failed rather
than where you've succeeded?
· What you don't know rather
than what you do know?
· Where you are not going rather
than where you are going? |
We waste so much valuable time and
energy beating ourselves up about all we could have,
should have, would have
.we compare, get over-sensitive,
mis-directed and end up losing ourselves in the quest
for where we really want to be!
Harness your inner power. Real power
is believing in yourself, not being concerned with other
people's opinions, not taking things too personally
and following through on your intuitions, inspirations
and passions.
So here's your next challenge as you
leave 2005 and focus on 2006
..make a list of:
· 2 things you want however don't
have now ?
· 2 things you want to learn however
don't know now?
· 2 things you would like to be however
you are not right now i.e. a better leader,
more inspired?
· 2 places you would like to visit
eg. Tuscany, Russia?
· 2 things you want to eliminate from
your life i.e. someone/something?
· 2 things that you've really wanted to
do but always found excuses not to? |
On leaving 2005 consider these challenges
So here's to 2006 - may it be every success you create
it to be - in every way!
