Within each of us is an internal
flame that is the keeper of our life force. Every
choice we make either feeds and fuels our flame
or dampens and diminishes it.
When our flame burns brightly and is strong and
healthy we feel positive, energised and confident.
We face up to our fears, are motivated and able
to rise above challenges and handle adversity.
When our flame is merely flickering we feel vulnerable,
defocused and doubtful. We then lack confidence,
are less resilient and more susceptible to negativity
and despondency.
We need to remember we are the keepers of our
internal flame and every choice we make will either
fan that flame or contribute to eventually killing
it!
In order to feed our internal flame we need to
become conscious of the choices we make in every
aspect of our life.
"What do I really want?
This is one of the most important questions you'll
ever ask yourself. Spell out your desires."
Alfred Montapert
By asking the right questions before we make
a decision will assist us in getting the right
answers and ultimately making the right choices.
So when next you are faced with making a choice
here are some questions to ponder:
· |
Will this choice energise or de-energise
me? |
|
· |
Am I doing this for me or am I
trying to please/be accepted by someone
else? |
|
· |
Will this choice bring me long
term fulfilment and satisfaction or
is it a short term gratification? |
|
· |
Is it an act of faith or fear? |
|
· |
Will this choice - albeit maybe
painful - lead me towards a better future
or will it keep me stuck in the past? |
|
· |
In my heart do I believe it is
right or am I going against my inner
voice? |
|
· |
Will this choice empower or disempower
me? |
