"Our plans miscarry because
they have no aim. When a man does not know
what harbour he is making for no wind is the right
wind."
Lucius Seneca |
I believe goals are not only about
one's career and money and wealth. What you want to
achieve in life is also about your own growth and development,
about your pleasure and about adventure and enjoyment
and doing what you want to do.
REMEMBER IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO
RE-ASSESS WHERE YOU ARE, WHERE YOU ARE GOING
AND WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.
"The future belongs to
those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
Eleanor Roosevelt |
Think of your LIFE as consisting of 4 cups:
Your CUP OF BELIEF - what do you believe in,
what do you value, what is important to you and then
set your goals around these areas - not what other people
expect of you but what you believe in and want to achieve.
Your belief and conviction in something will determine
its success.
Your CUP OF POTENTIAL - what are you able to
achieve, where are your strengths and areas of expertise
- make a list of the things you are good at and if there
are areas that need work. This will also help you to
determine what you want to do, for example if you can
play the piano and want to - why aren't you?
Your CUP OF ACTION - how do you see yourself
achieving your goals i.e. what action must you take
to implement your goals - do you need to get creative,
read more books, do a course or take a risk!
Your CUP OF RESULTS - what do you ultimately
want to achieve, what is the end result...and of course
how determined are you?
Whether it is your personal development, your peace
of mind, your career, your health, your spiritual growth
or whatever it is that is you want to do - there is
nothing to stop you except yourself.
"I'm gonna fly from my
cocoon and put my footsteps on the moon,
All I've ever hoped to be is free to be that person
me!"

So as we are about to turn the corner into 2005 ask
yourself:
· |
Is 2005 going to be my year? |
· |
What do I want to achieve and do? |
· |
How full do I want my Cup of Life? |
· |
Do I need to take some risks? |
· |
What stirs my passion? |
OR one day are you going to write your
OWN epitaph that reads:
"HERE I LIE WITH A SIGH WISHING
I HAD BEEN A DOER RATHER THAN A HOPER"
Don't die with your music still in
you.
"There is just one life
for each of us: our own"
Euripides |
